Cucuron - Galon Pavilion
Galon - Cucuron - Vaucluse Private property
Visit by appointment only from 15 April to 15 June. Galon road Label 2009 |
At the foot of the Luberon, a stone’s throw from the village of Cucuron, Galon’s property is unveiled behind its fence wall and cypress hedge.
Hunting lodge built in the late 18th century, Galon is decorated with four basins fed by springs and mines (underground pipes) and accompanied by plane trees, holly, boxwood, cypress trees and rare and collectible species of the time (magnolia ...)
Besides an orchard rich in old varieties, a fig tree and a vineyard, you can discover a "French" garden, created in 2004. Organized in four squares divided into three zones of plantations where a sea of Provençal iris rubs with wild herbs and local plants (cistus, rosemary, etc.) around rare fruit trees, it presents a beautiful perspective from the basin of the sultan to the basin of long view and to the great basin, on the other side of the road.
The basin of the lavandières, at the back of the pavilion, opens towards new drawings, formed by a spiral olive grove and an alignment of Aleppo pines and brooms destined to join to form an alley, the "elytized fields".
