Dance teaching
A DIPLOMA COURSE
In order to be authorized to teach classical, contemporary and jazz dances, the dance teacher must have:
- either from State diploma of dance teacher
- recognition of professional qualifications for European Union nationals,
- an exemption from the ED for the candidate’s particular reputation or his or her proven experience in teaching dance,
- a dispensation for teaching dance for more than three years before 1989.
To register for the ED training the candidate must have obtained theTechnical aptitude test (EAT), an examination that validates the technical and artistic skills of the candidate.
Are exempt:
- candidates holding a DEC diploma from conservatories with a departmental or regional influence;
- professional dancers benefiting from the specific unemployment insurance scheme Annex 10.
- as well as candidates holding a qualification or diploma provided for by the decree of 20 July 2015.
The request for exemption must be made to the DRAC of the applicant’s home.
