The Drac Occitanie is organized on the two sites of Toulouse and Montpellier, its headquarters was fixed by the Government in Montpellier.

In order to be close to the institutions, the cultural actors and the communities, all the scientific, technical, artistic and administrative skills of the Drac continue to be exercised on its two sites.

It also includes, in each of the thirteen departments, a departmental unit of architecture and heritage (Udap, ex-Stap).
