Plastic arts

The plastic arts department contributes to the definition and implementation of the State policy in terms of developing the visibility of contemporary creation in Normandy. Its mission is to support the creation, production and dissemination of contemporary creation in all its forms: painting, volume, photography, installation, video but also design, fashion and new technologies.
 
In this sense, it accompanies the structures of creation and dissemination. It also promotes the development of associations engaged in actions related to the promotion and mediation of contemporary art.
 
The visual arts sector is also the main contact point for artists and contemporary art professionals regarding their integration and their professional, fiscal and social situation. In this, it implements in particular the support mechanisms: individual assistance to the creation, facilitating the realization of a creative project, and installation allocation, meeting the material needs of artists.
 
It coordinates the procedures related to public commissions and 1% artistic, thus participating in the planning of the territory and the requalification of urban and rural spaces. It accompanies the operation of higher education institutions under the supervision of the Ministry of Culture and ensures their pedagogical monitoring.
 
The two plastic arts advisors of DRAC Normandie are divided as follows: 
 
The Rouen-based advisor is in charge of supporting artists (regional commissions AIC, AIA), monitoring their professional careers, national calls for projects, festivals and the structuring of the photography network in Normandy, as well as digital creation. As of September 2019, in the departments of Eure and Seine-Maritime, he is in charge of monitoring the 1% artistic operations and public commissions, and supporting venues and associations at the initiative of artists and culture lovers. 
 
The advisor based in Caen is responsible for FRAC, Art Centres and other professional venues, Art Colleges, SODAVI, then, in the departments of Calvados, Manche and Orne, the monitoring of the operations of the 1 % artistic and the public commission, the accompaniment of places and associations to the initiative of artists or amateurs of the Culture. 
 

Requests for individual assistance from plastic artists are now mandatory paperless; the simplified application portal will be open from 3 January 2022 at 10 am to 3 March 2022 at 10 am .

The status notice in the mermaid directory will need to be up to date in order to apply. It will have an address in Normandy corresponding to the home declared on the online form.
