A stamp for the ten years of patronage 2003 - 2013
On September 5, 2013, The Post Office has issued a stamp commemorating the tenth anniversary of the Philanthropy Act. At the invitation of Aurélie Filippetti, Minister of Culture and Communication, the launch ceremony of this stamp took place on the same day at the Ministry of Culture and Communication, in the presence of Valérie Fourneyron, Minister of Sports, Youth, of Popular Education and Community Life. A little bit of history. On 1 August 2003, the "Aillagon Law" was adopted, which led to an unprecedented development of corporate philanthropy and individual philanthropy in France. Philanthropy is a gift in the form of material support to a non-profit organization or organization of general interest. It results in the payment of a donation (in cash, in kind or in competence) intended to support a philanthropic, educational, cultural, social, humanitarian project… Thanks to this law, which encourages private initiative and citizen engagement, more than 25,000 businesses and 5 million individuals are now using its provisions to serve the common good. |
