Architecture, landscape, urbanism, living environment and environment The Architecture department of the DRAC is responsible for the implementation of public policies concerning architecture, the coordination of actions promoting the architectural quality and those of the living environment in the region.
With the Regional Council of the Order of Architects (CROA), he represents the Government Commissioner in various instances (ordinal meetings, legal follow-up, etc.) and participates and accompanies the actions of the Order.
In connection with the coordinator of the Regional Commission of Heritage and Architecture (CRPA), the Advisor for Architecture receives, instructs and follows the appeals formulated against the opinions of architects of buildings in France issued in protected areas. As such, it monitors the second section of the RCAP, both on appeals and on possible architectural projects that can be submitted to the commission and ensures its secretariat.

Highlighting the Architecture network in Hauts-de-France
The Architecture Advisor leads the Architecture networks in the region. It promotes transversality and partnership, thus making Architecture and its stakeholders in the Hauts-de-France more visible, accessible and identifiable.
It makes the different structures in charge of the Architecture adhere to the different national and regional actions in order to give them more scope and visibility.
The Architecture network in Hauts-de-France relies on its main players: the CROA, the Ecole Nationale Supérieure de l'Architecture et du Paysage de Lille (ENSAPL), the House of architecture of Hauts-de-France, WAAO, the 5 Councils in architecture, urbanism and environment (CAUE) and their regional union, the architects of Les Bâtiments de France and their service (UDAP) but also on the services of the Cities and Countries of Art and History (VPAH) of the region, the Regional Natural Parks (PNR), the other services of the State (DTT(M), DREAL, etc. ) and their consulting architects and universities.
Backup and Enhancement Plan
The Advisor for Architecture participates in the policy of creation and modification of Remarkable Heritage Sites (SPR, ex-ZPPAUP and AVAP).
It ensures awareness of the tool and informs communities on the procedures and hears applications for financial support for the implementation of CPS. He represents the DRAC in the local commissions of the SPR. The architects of the buildings of France ensure the technical follow-up of the SPR.
For SPR with Plan de sauvegarde et de mise en valeur (PSMV), the advisor for Architecture participates in the development of public procurement documents when the State is the client. It monitors the procedure, both for creation and for revisions and extensions.
He also ensures the presentation of the file in CRPA (1st section) and in national commission (CNPA).
Guide Remarkable Heritage Sites
Two architects-consultants of the State come to reinforce the advisor for Architecture in the Hauts-de-France. Their expertise and the specific perspective they receive from the practice of the profession as a liberal are put to good use both in the network’s facilitation missions and in the preparation of reports for the RCAP.
The Advisor for Architecture coordinates and organizes the College of Architects Urbanists of the State within the DRAC, chaired by the Regional Director.
This college aims to share and promote exchange and transversality around certain themes between 5 UDAP to develop common doctrines.
In addition to these missions, it also participates in the implementation of many devices for the improvement of the living environment: operations City Heart, ANRU projects related to the city policy, devices on the town centers, etc.
It is associated with architectural competition juries, possibly in conjunction with the sector advisor of the DRAC.
It participates in the Artistic and Cultural Education actions implemented in the field of architecture, urbanism or landscape.
With the service of the Regional Conservation of Historic Monuments, he brings his expertise to the scientific committee in charge of the label Remarkable Contemporary Architecture (ACR – ex Label Patrimoine XXe).
National Architecture Days
The Architecture department coordinates the National Days of Architecture (3rd weekend of October).
This national event makes it possible to highlight all the actions in the field of architecture (exhibitions, visits to buildings, site visits, conferences, open doors of architectural agencies, develop artistic and cultural education activities for all audiences but also specifically for the school public with the Raise Your Eyes device, etc.)
