27th edition of the Semaine de la langue française et de la francophonie

This event is the annual meeting of lovers of words in France and abroad. It offers the general public the opportunity to celebrate the French language and the Francophonie by celebrating its rich cultural diversity.

With as theme Ҫa (d)astonishes! » the event also values the multiple projects carried out within the framework of the operation Ten to ten words » which invites everyone to question the ability of words to create astonishment, even to amaze - by their sound, their spelling, their absurd or mysterious character.  The words chosen for this edition are: offbeat, divulge, dazzle, mind-blowing, stuffing, kaï, madness, pinch me, saperlipopette, tinamarre.

This week dedicated to the French language allows us to highlight cultural venues such as libraries, media libraries and cultural centres in the Hauts-de-France region, through activities and events organized for the occasion: dictation competitions, exhibitions, writing workshops, improvisation shows, etc.

During this emblematic week, the mobile language laboratory Listen to talk », cultural and scientific project, will be inaugurated at the castle of Villers-Cotterêts in the Aisne. The public is invited to push the door of this original place to test the sound games, immerse themselves in the diversity of the language and contribute to the sound portrait of France. He then travelled through the territory of Hauts-de-France to record the ways of speaking in French and regional languages (Picard and West Flemish).

Other participating venues include the Centre Culturel de Chauny in the Aisne region, where a conference on the Francophonie and the defence of the French language is organized, by Alain Ripaux, President of the Francophonie Force Oblige ».   The Médiathèque Antoine Chanut de Creil dans l'Oise offers a meeting with author Alain Bron, a radio host of a chronicle on the origin of French words. He proposes to dissect not without humor, several expressions on the theme "Passion for writing"and to present and dedicate her books. At the Labo de Cambrai in the North, Annie Degroote leads a literary meeting around her novels. She also agreed to be the sponsor of the 2022 adult dictation of France-Québec Francophonie initiated by "Cambrésis Hainaut Quebec".
