Digital and innovation in Hauts-de-France
The digital strategy of the DRAC Hauts-de-France is based on the new possibilities offered by digital technology to boost the transmission of knowledge to a wide and varied public.
The inclusion of this digital strategy in the previous State-Region Plan Contracts (CPER) made it possible to anchor its objectives in a regional reflection and to strengthen the partnerships between the State and the regional authorities of the region.
The objectives of the digital strategy are:
- complete the measures put in place at national level by the Ministry of Culture
- develop a Culture and Digital axis specific to the regional territory
- meet the need to strengthen research and development (R&D) in the field of New Technologies applied to Culture, while participating in the development of the digital economy (French Tech Network, Start-ups, Fab Labs, Laboratoires…)tourism and employment, as well as regional digital and cultural development
- increase access to heritage and culture.
Each year, since 2017, the DRAC has launched two calls for projects, which make it possible to select approximately 30 projects per year with a view to:
- develop the offer of cultural resources through ICT and digital arts by developing applications of tools or digital portals to disseminate and enhance heritage and cultural creations
- support engineering and innovation initiatives that promote cooperation between industry players, and stimulate digital entrepreneurship in the cultural, artistic, educational and tourism sectors.
The winners will present the projects the following year in the form of a public communication with workshops on the occasion of a Regional Day Culture and Digital » organised by the DRAC.
These documents and applications are intended to appear in the National online databases and/or aggregated on the portal Collections of the Ministry of Culture but also on the sites of the partner Local Authorities (Regional Council, Departmental Councils, Municipalities...) or private institutions ( Foundations, Learned Societies, Associations Law 1901...).
Hauts-de-France Collections is the regional component of the Collections search engine, providing access to nearly 250,000 items in all regional artistic and cultural fields.
The regional plan for digitisation and cultural dissemination is also in line with the European Commission’s objectives of building a digital library ' Europeana ', a multilingual access point to all the cultural content of heritage and contemporary creation in Europe.
Finally, it participates in the implementation of the Micro-folies network:
Designed by the architect Bernard Tschumi and inspired by the Folies du Parc de la Villette, the Micro-folies participate in the democratization of culture: they house a digital museum that can be viewed for free on a giant screen, a fab lab, a stage space or a café (meeting space).
They make it possible to present an offer of works spread across France and around the world, and represent a formidable educational tool to accompany the paths of young people towards art.
