Higher education

The Grand Est region has a large number of higher education and research sites:

- 5 universities under the supervision of the Ministry of Higher Education, Research and Innovation;
- 9 schools under the supervision of the Ministry of Culture;
To which must be added all the training provided in secondary schools under the supervision of national education or private institutions.

Tasks of the mission manager

The Higher Education Project Manager is responsible for:
- implement ministerial priorities for higher education;
- coordinate the partnerships and actions of the Grand Est DRAC at the Grand Est level;
- stimulate new partnerships;
- strengthening networks in the territory;
- contribute to the influence of institutions, particularly at cross-border level.

This transversal mission is implemented in conjunction with all the teams of the DRAC Grand Est (heritage, creation, cultural democratization) and the actors of the higher education of the territory, all tutelage:
- to promote the diversity of cultural and artistic training in the Great East;
- encouraging basic and applied research in the arts;
- promote students' access to culture in all its forms and promote students' artistic and cultural activities;
- support the cultural aspect of establishment projects;
- to monitor the professional integration of graduates in artistic and cultural disciplines;
- supporting cultural entrepreneurship.

Crafts

Crafts represent one of the specificities of the Grand Est region. Faced with this observation, the DRAC Grand Est reinforces its action for the preservation and enhancement of crafts in all its forms.

In the region, crafts present:
- a variety of trades and sectors: glass and crystal, earth, wood, stone, basketry, instrumental invoice, etc.;
- a diversity of initial and continuing training bodies and mechanisms for the transmission of know-how;
- exceptional concentration with more than 2,500 craft businesses.

Missions

In line with the national guidelines, the DRAC Grand Est is developing a policy in favour of crafts in order to:
- to encourage the conservation of the heritage for which professionals in the arts and crafts are indispensable;
- ensure the preservation of rare businesses;
- to promote contemporary creation;
- to accompany the transmission of exceptional know-how.

This transversal mission is implemented in conjunction with all the teams of the DRAC Grand Est (heritage, creation, cultural democratization) and the main actors dedicated to crafts, at the regional level.
