Image-based education
To promote artistic education, the DRAC Grand Est supports the regional implementation of national image education schemes.
Within the DRAC, the Cinema and Multimedia Advisors ensure the monitoring of image education systems, both in school time (in conjunction with the Arts and Cultural Education Advisor) and outside of school time.
In school time
School and Cinema, Film College and Film Students and Apprentices
The DRAC supports the coordination of image-based education systems, offered from primary to secondary education, and supports their implementation.
Different devices allow classes to view at least three films per year, chosen for their artistic quality and their potential for educational exploration.
The various devices:
- School and cinema : discover the magic of the 7e art (the room, the big screen, pure emotions…);
- Film college Enabling secondary school students to build up, through the pedagogical work of accompaniment conducted by teachers and cultural partners, the bases of a film culture;
- Film students and apprentices Students become young film buffs and future savvy spectators able to recognize an author or a cinematographic writing.
The Cinema and Multimedia advisors are the interlocutors of the National Education, local authorities and cultural actors who ensure the coordination of the devices.
The cinemas interested :

Image smugglers
Launched in 1991, "Image Smugglers" is a National educational system for the image and cinema with a cultural and social vocation, supported by an eponymous association. It is aimed at audiences, especially young people, who for geographical, social or cultural reasons are far removed from film and audiovisual practices and provision.
In the Grand Est region, the system, supported by the DRAC, is set up as a priority within the framework of the city’s policy, regional coordination.
Regional coordination is provided by three associations, mandated by the DRAC: Alsace Cinemas - Maison de l'image; TCB - Télé Centre Bernon and the Education League - Fol Moselle.
They develop partnerships with local authorities, cinemas, cultural structures, youth and neighbourhood houses, associations...
Workshops, meetings, outdoor sessions and pricing policies are offered, mainly in the summer, and throughout the year...
