For any application for a grant to the DRAC Grand Est concerning a restoration project or studies on a listed or registered historical monument (building, movable object or organ), it is requested to the project promoter (community, association or individual) contact the DRAC upstream, prior to project definition.

The services of the DRAC accompany the project leaders throughout the implementation of the project: recruitment of a prime contractor, studies, authorization of works, applications for grants, scientific and technical control...

Request for authorization to work on a historic monument

All work carried out on a historic monument is subject to agreement or authorization:
- registered monuments: they are the subject of a planning authorization ;
- classified monuments: they are the subject of a special administrative authorisation, granted by the regional prefect.

Types of eligible projects

The State may grant grants for a project to restore or maintain a historic monument, or for a study.
These projects may be investment or operational.
In operation, the State aid relates only to the maintenance of the building, or to a project of valorization with scientific content.

Please note: applications for grants should be submitted to the DRAC - Conservation régionale des monuments historiques, on the site of Strasbourg, Châlons-en-Champagne or Metz, depending on the locality where the building is located.

Validation of work

Applications for investment or maintenance grants may be submitted to the RDCA only after validation of the proposed work.
