The Pays de Loire Touraine recruits, as part of a maternity leave replacement

Located in the North East of the department of Indre et Loire (37), Pays Loire Touraine has 4 communities of communes, 55 communes and 108,000 inhabitants. Since 2009 the territory belongs to the national network of Cities and Countries of art of history, label of the Ministry of Culture. As a country of art and history, we therefore conduct a policy of valorization and heritage animation for the inhabitants, the young public and the tourist public. Various activities are planned throughout the year (guided tours, new activities, children’s workshops, national events of the Ministry of Culture, exhibitions, training courses, conferences, etc.). Educational interventions (visits and workshops) are organized in school time and outside school time and a comprehensive offer of visits and lectures is offered to groups.
In order to continue the implementation of these actions, the Pays Loire Touraine recruits an employee to temporarily replace the assistant of the Pays d'art et d'histoire department.

Under the authority of the President, the Team Manager and the Project Leader of the Country of Art and History, the Deputy Director. Its tasks will be:
Management and implementation of the Educational Action (Responsibility of the Educational Service) and the Group Offer
- Implementation of actions to make young people aware of heritage, architecture, living environment and landscapes
- Monitoring of requests for assistance from schools and established groups
- Carrying out educational documentary research
- Production of new content and updating of teaching materials
- Preparation and organisation of pedagogical interventions (school/non school time)
- Conducting educational visits and workshops alone or in pairs with a guest guide
- Creation and implementation of new visits, workshops and specific projects for young people and families;
- Prospecting and communication with new school and adult audiences
- Development of collaboration with schools (National Education, pedagogical counsellors, schools, teachers

Support for the design and implementation of heritage enhancement and mediation actions
- Participation in the design, implementation and animation of Pays d'art et d'histoire events: Cluedo® heritage, Cycl Eau Trésor, show tours, etc. and national events of the Ministry of Culture
- Assistance in the preparation and implementation of visits and heritage events for individuals
- Management of the European Heritage Days (JEP): monitoring of public and private partners/ Preparation of the service programme and publication of the brochure for the whole territory, in connection with the DRAC Centre-Val de Loire/ Preparation and management of the actions of the Service on D-Days/ Evaluation of the event
- Carrying out documentary and iconographic research / Writing assistance for the production of publications, exhibitions or any mediation support
- Conduct guided tours to adult audiences as required by operational requirements

Communication and promotion of the Pays d'art et d'histoire label
- Recording of events and animations on the online booking platform and on any other means of Internet communication
- Preparation and design of communication materials (programme brochures, flyers, animation posters, publications)
- Participation in any tourism promotion event of the label
- Contribution to press relations
- Perfecting the Heritage and Service Photography Collection
- Redesign of the contact and faithful database of the Pays d'art et d'histoire

Participate in the functioning of the structure
- Participation in meetings of the Country (Bureau, Trade Union Committee, etc.) and in the presentation times of the structure (for elected officials and technicians of local authorities) in conjunction with the Country team

PROFILE SOUGHT

- Your background and training (BAC+5) have enabled you to acquire solid knowledge in Art History, Heritage, Architecture, History, Mediation, Project Management, Communication
- You have knowledge of the territory and heritage of the Loire Touraine region.
- You have experience in cultural mediation (guided tours and educational workshops) with different types of audiences (a lecturer’s guide is appreciated), and you are sensitive to the development of innovative actions

REQUIRED SKILLS

Knowledge of the scientific and cultural issues of professional and institutional heritage networks as well as the Cities and Countries of Art and History label
- Experience in a City and Country of Art and History department would be a real asset
- Knowledge of different types of youth audiences and heritage mediation
- Research proficiency and writing skills
- Proficiency in computer software (Pack Office) and creative (Canva, etc.) and digital tools
- Interpersonal skills (contact, dialogue)
- Teamwork, autonomy and initiative
- Dynamism, versatility, rigour and adaptability

JOB CONDITIONS

Full-time position 35/35th based in Pocé sur Cisse, near Amboise (37) to be filled from May 2023 on a fixed term of 5 months (maternity leave replacement), with possible extension until 31 December 2023 (parental leave replacement).
Position open to contract employees (remuneration based on the index grid of territorial attachés)
Availability on certain evenings and weekends depending on the service’s activities and programming
Permit B and personal vehicle required (must travel within the territory)
