The gates of Saint-Louis regains their original colour

The windows of the western portal of the cathedral of Blois are the first witnesses of the transformation of the old abbey church of Saint-Solenne into Saint-Louis cathedral, following the creation of the diocese of Blois by Louis XIV, in 1697.

After more than three centuries, they had reached us in a poor state of conservation, treated in natural and dark wood, but fortunately protected from the elements by a deep porch.

Since July 2018 parishioners and visitors have been able to discover their new adornment.
