Restoration of stained glass windows in the church of Notre-Dame de Rochecorbon (Indre-et-Loire) The operation took place in 2017 and covered all the stained glass windows that decorate the windows of Notre-Dame Church, classified as Historic Monuments in 1926. These stained-glass windows are much more recent than the building itself, which dates back, for its oldest part, to the 11th century, in fact, dating from the second half of the 19th century and are the work of a Touraine workshop well known in the region, the Lobin workshop. Carmel of Tours: completion of the restoration of the model Property of the Carmelite Federation, northern France, this exceptional model was made by Sister Marie de la Croix, née Juliette Roccale 14 September 1842 in Naples. Entering the Carmel of Tours in 1865, she made her profession on May 21, 1867, and died on January 11, 1932. Agnès Blossier, restorer of sculptures and more particularly of models, has just completed its restoration in summer 2015. (Download the complete datasheet on the right) |
Saint Nicolas Church: restoration of the painted decoration of the crypt Probably executed in the middle of the 12th century and rediscovered around 1862, the paintings adorning the crypt of the church of Tavant acquired during the first half of the 20th century a world reputation that has never been denied since. Having been the object of several restorations of varying magnitude during the twentieth century, the paintings of the crypt were again in a worrisome health state for about ten years.
