Museums

(1) The decennial collection is the verification of the presence of works from inventories. It is the consequence of the existence of a public domain which it serves to verify the integrity. This is a very old practice, but recently included in the law of 4 January 2002 on museums in France and codified in Article L.451-2 of the Heritage Code which states that “the collections of museums in France are the subject of an inscription on an inventory. They are harvested every 10 years.”
