University culture in the Pays de la Loire

University cultural policy is part of the missions assigned by law to universities and contributes to the territorial cultural development policy implemented by the Ministry of Culture in partnership with local authorities.

Promoting access to culture, works and cultural practices for the greatest number of people is the common mission of the ministries in charge of higher education and culture. At the time of the democratization of higher education, culture, through its role of opening up to the world, contributes to reducing the disparity of student audiences which, because of their previous background and social origin, are unevenly prepared for the acquisition of knowledge.

In this context, the two departments signed a framework agreement in July 2013 to enhance their collaboration.

In the region of the Pays de la Loire, is declined in specific agreements with the universities of Nantes and Angers and by project grants with the University of Maine.

As part of the partnership between the DRAC of the Pays de la Loire and the universities of the region, special attention is paid to the Ecole Supérieure du Professorat et de l'Education (ESPE).
