How to welcome a volunteer civic service?

Offer a unique experience
The mission of Civic Service is a voluntary commitment with an average duration of 8 months in the service of the general interest, with a minimum weekly duration of 24 hours and compensated approximately 580 € per month. It is a unique experience open to all young people between the ages of 16 and 25, up to the age of 30 in a situation of disability, without qualification.
Large generic missions
Missions related to the reception of people with disabilities in cultural establishments
The missions entrusted to young volunteers for people with disabilities support the work of professionals, agents or employees of cultural structures:
- Contact the target audiences
- Helping users with mobility or autonomy difficulties to improve the quality of reception and accessibility in cultural establishments
- Contribute to making accessible the offer of artistic and cultural practice within the cultural institution
Arts and cultural education missions
These missions contribute to the implementation of the actions and projects carried out by the cultural actors within the framework of the national plan for arts and cultural education and artistic and cultural education pathways, especially on school holidays.
Missions in higher education Culture
Culture colleges, whatever their status (national public institutions, public institutions for cultural cooperation, associations), have the vocation to welcome young volunteers, on the following missions:
- Contribute to the development of school information in the field of disability
- Relaying to students prevention actions in the field of student health
- Contribute to the accompaniment of foreign students or from other regions
Missions by major cultural areas
Artistic creation
The young volunteer helps to make the offer of live performance or contemporary art accessible to all audiences, by going to the most distant audiences of this offer, by facilitating the meeting between the population, mediators, artists, encouraging and supporting the mobility of people in isolated situations, participating in mediation actions in or outside the walls…
Book and reading: missions in libraries/ media libraries
- Carrying of documents at home.
- Accompaniment to reception and mediation for audiences arriving for the first time in library.
- Support for the use of library resources and digital mediation for people prevented from reading.
- Accompaniment to book access and reading for early childhood audiences and non-sector children.
- Support for mediation when organizing cultural activities and arts and cultural education actions.
Heritage: missions archives
Contribution to the discovery of archives for a citizen education of populations most remote from places of culture, especially young people from priority areas and, more broadly, from all audiences.
Cinema
The young volunteer participates in the development of actions promoting the access of all to the cinematographic offer, in particular to people remote, isolated, not mobile, the most deprived families, in retirement homes, in hospitals, through access to film screenings.
Architectural heritage: mission valorisation de l'architecture et du cadre de vie: sensibilisation de la population locale à la qualité du cadre de vie
The young volunteer’s mission is to strengthen the social bond, inter- and intra-generational, in the labeled communities, by participating in the enhancement and animation of the living environment. It participates in a field action, contributing to the territorial action of the labeled community "City and Country of Art and History".
