Democratization-Territorial action
The mission of the Democratization and Territorial Action Cluster is to make culture accessible to as many people as possible, especially for the public and in the territories furthest from the cultural, artistic and heritage offer.
The Democratization and Territorial Action unit contributes to the design and implementation of cultural, cross-cutting and partnership policies, in close connection with the other DRAC departments, the other decentralized services of the State and local authorities. It promotes a more equitable network and a strengthening of the cultural offer towards the less well irrigated territories and the public with the least access to culture.
The division operates in various fields:
- the cultural action is implemented through the DRAC’s own contractual policies or articulated with territorial contracts of the State on priority territories in rural and political areas of the city (QPV). This action is also based on interdepartmental partnerships: Culture and Agriculture, Culture and Justice, Culture and Health;
- thearts and cultural education by ensuring a link between cultural institutions, cultural professionals, artists – educational institutions – and young people (in or out of school) aims to strengthen access to culture, the meeting with artists and practices from kindergarten to university. It is based on a strong partnership with the other services of the State (National Education, DRAAF but also DRJSCS) and local authorities;
- the valorization of heritage promotes access to and understanding of tangible and intangible heritage, archaeology, written, museum or archival heritage;
- awareness of the architecture, the link between creation and heritage, which plays a growing role in the development of contemporary rural and urban territories undergoing major changes;
- the teaching of culture higher education, art schools, specialty courses and optional options from college to university culture, as well as lifelong learning actions.
