Culture and disability
The DRAC Nouvelle-Aquitaine is responsible for implementing the national guidelines of the Ministry of Culture and the Commission nationale Culture et Handicap.
The DRAC Nouvelle-Aquitaine supports projects promoting theaccess to culture and heritage for persons with disabilities in the regions, the interdepartmental and National Commission on Culture and Disability, by:
- information and training measures for cultural, institutional and associative partners on the problems of accessibility to culture for disabled people;
- labelling Tourism and Disability, in partnership with the Tourism Committees, museums, historical monuments, archaeological sites;
- support for arts education and cultural action projects in adapted classes (ULIS, CLIS) and in medical and social establishments (EREA, IME, IMP, ITEP);
- the support for innovative mediation services The Popi robot at Oiron Castle.
These projects may be supported by institutions hosting disabled people, associations, cultural structures, artistic teams or local authorities.
