Aid for book events in Normandy
the DRAC of Normandy financially accompanies the demonstrations of the book
The many events of the book - literary fairs and festivals - that Normandy carries are both essential actors of the development of book audiences, promoters of authors in the territory and factors of cultural development. If they are conducted in a spirit of cultural cooperation and continuity, they truly contribute to irrigating many territories in depth through the partnerships forged between local actors such as public libraries, independent local bookshops, the community fabric, the educational and social field. As such, they contribute to the development of reading policies, to the strengthening of the place of books in the life of our fellow citizens, to the economic health of the Norman economic chain of books, the biblio-diversity and vivacity of literary creation in our region.
For all these reasons, the DRAC financially supports the events of the book of all sizes that are committed not only to the creation of an event suitable to animate their territory punctually by putting the book in honor and by making it discover and love, but especially in favour of an appropriation of this event by the inhabitants of their territory, throughout the year, thanks to mediation actions and participatory practices made possible by innovation and partnerships.
Moreover, the DRAC is keen to make structures that it supports as relays of its policy in favour of the book industry and thus encourages virtuous practices in terms of professionalization, remuneration of authors and stakeholders, and partnerships with the local bookstore.
Local authorities and associations who wear a literary event and wish to apply for financial assistance from the DRAC must apply before 31 December of the year preceding the event by means of one of the forms, adapted to their situation, presented on the bottom panel of this screen.
Aware of the role of these local actors in the development of books and reading, the State (DRAC) In 2019, the Region will embark on a process aimed at articulating its existing policies of support for book events and places of creation and residences, by jointly reviewing the requests for support addressed to them. This review will also take into account the respect of Cultural Rights (accessibility, equality between women and men, diversity...).
