Cinema
The DRAC intervenes on the whole of the animated images sector. Working with professional structures, associations, local and regional authorities and other State departments, it provides information, advice, analysis and impetus. An academic-level consultation was conducted on film teaching in September 2022.
Our missions
- Investigate applications for new theatres during CDAC – Departmental Commercial Planning Commissions and examine in connection with the National Film and Motion Picture Centre, applications for the classification of art and essays of cinematographic establishments and authorizations for outdoor projection.
- Contribute to the promotion and dissemination of works in theatres as well as the access of a wide audience through numerous mechanisms such as financial support for festivals and image education systems.
- To intervene in the digital field by supporting structures that train audiences in digital creative practices, artistic production and experimentation as well as the dissemination of digital arts in all their forms.
- To coordinate the development of a common policy of intervention in the field of digital technologies (new arrangements for the reception and support of cultural projects) and to monitor digital cultural practices.
Education at cinenamel
Film education combines knowledge of film heritage and awareness of the 7th art through an approach to reading images or analyzing films. It is aimed at young audiences, notably through the "École au cinéma", "Collège et cinéma", "Lycéens et apprentis au cinéma" and is based on 16 departmental co-ordinations in the Ile de France region, involving:
- coordinating bodies (associations, cinemas)
- local authorities (town halls, general councils, region)
- the National Film and Motion Picture Centre
- the national association "children of cinema" national coordinator of the device "School and cinema"
- National Education at various levels (Rectorates, Academic Inspections, Institutions)
- the DRAC
- the partner cinemas
- Other partners, cultural actors such as festivals, the Cinémathèque française, the Forum des Images are part of school time
Coordination of the four mechanisms: - School and cinema - College at cinema - High school students and apprentices at cinema - Image smugglers
DRAC interlocutors within the structures in charge of activities related to cinema: - Local authorities and National Education - the three rectorats of the Region Île-de-France.
Signed between the State (DRAC), certain departments, the City of Paris, the Île-de-France Region and the Centre national du cinéma et de l'image animée, these agreements legitimise and reinforce the actions in favour of cinema between these parties by enabling support to be committed by common accord in the fields of production, cinematographic and audiovisual works, cinema education, the dissemination or promotion of works and their authors.

Aid for production or creation
There is no support for film or audiovisual production directly set up by the Regional Directorate for Cultural Affairs of Ile-de-France, State aid in these areas being the responsibility of the Centre national du cinéma et de l'image animée. http://www.cnc.fr/web/en

Authorization of outdoor cinema screenings
Pursuant to Article 23 of Regulatory Decision No. 12 of 2 March 1948, as amended, any outdoor projection of cinematographic works of more than one hour, free or for a fee, is subject to authorization by the National Cinematography Centre. A group of experts is set up at the DRAC Ile-de-France to give a preliminary opinion on each of the projections. In this context, the deadline for the broadcast of feature films is one year from the date of the visa. This specific authorisation is granted to the organiser of the screening(s) by the CNC. The request for authorization is made online on the CNC website by sending the duly completed application form to the Regional Directorate of Cultural Affairs in whose territory the screening(s) take place.

Film Festival 2023
The 2023 Film Festival will take place on Sunday 2, Monday 3, Tuesday 4 and Wednesday 5 July 2023. In order to promote this highly anticipated Festival of Cinema, it is strongly recommended to avoid these four dates.
In addition, all outdoor session requests for the months of July and August must be submitted before June 10, 2023.
