Dancing
The DRAC Île-de-France ensures the implementation and evaluation of the choreographic policies of the Ministry of Culture in the region. Its scope of intervention covers all aesthetic fields, the sectors of education and training, heritage, creation, dissemination and cultural action. The sector is followed by the dance department, attached to the regional service of creation.
Our missions
The tasks of the DRAC concern in particular the monitoring of national label establishments and designations, the monitoring of contractual procedures, and the creation assistance schemes.
Centre chorégraphique national (CCN): CCN of Créteil and Val-de-Marne
A National Choreographic Centre (NCC) is an artistic structure led by a choreographic artist(s). It is a national reference point for the creation of choreographic works and the establishment or maintenance of choreographic repertoires. The NCCs, which are networked, aim to promote a wide variety of aesthetics, to contribute to the expansion of repertoires and audiences.
Since 1er January 2023, the CCN of Créteil and Val-de-Marne is headed by Mehdi Kerkouche. He carries an opening project for the CCN of Créteil and Val-de-Marne by affirming choreography as a universal language and by proposing an CCN open to all dances and all styles. Her Create, Gather, Share project includes setting up a digital creation studio based on her conviction: "Well balanced, physical creation and digital creation can only respond to each other, complement each other and allow the acquisition of an ever larger and new audience.".
National choreographic development centres (CDCN): La Briqueterie, Atelier de Paris
A National Choreographic Development Centre (CNDC) is an artistic structure whose objective is to support and promote creation and dissemination in the choreographic field, to sensitize audiences to dance, notably by developing artistic and cultural action programmes. Led by a professional director in the choreographic sector, the CDCN plays a role in identifying new aesthetics in dance.
Led since January 2021 by Sandra Neuveut, The Brickyard wants to be a space of shared artistic experiences, a place of cooperation but also a resource center located in Vitry-sur-Seine.
The Atelier de Paris, under the direction of Anne Sauvage, leads missions of creation and diffusion (through its festival June Events and its Season in creation(s). It also develops a program of artistic and cultural actions as well as a continuous training offer for professionals.

A Stage of National Interest (SCIN) is an artistic and cultural institution whose mission is: multidisciplinary artistic dissemination, support for contemporary creation and cultural action for the public. This label is awarded to a structure committed to equal access to its artistic offer, in an expanded territory.
