The actors of architecture of the Hauts-de-France region have mobilized for these days to make better known all the dimensions of this discipline to the general public. Architectural visits to exceptional places, meetings with architects or guided tours of entire districts will punctuate these days.
In Hauts-de-France, the Journées nationales de l'architecture will be launched on Friday, October 18 in Grenay, Pas-de-Calais, by Christian Champiré, mayor of Grenay and Marc Drouet, regional director of cultural affairs.
On the occasion of these emblematic days, the Conseil d'Architecture, d'Urbanisme et d'Environnement (CAUE) of Pas-de-Calais is organizing in partnership with the city of Grenay a round table «La ville en mouvement», a conference by Marie Castelain on «Architecture in show» or workshops for young audiences. An architectural tour of Grenay is also organized by the Pays d'art et d'histoire de Lens-Liévin. CAUE also offers free advice in architecture and heritage.
In Compiègne in the Oise, the Mémorial de l'internement et de la déportation offers thematic visits on the work of Jean-Jacques Raynaud, architect and designer of the reception building and the scenography of the Memorial and the structuring and organization of barracks buildings. A meeting on the place of contemporary architecture in history museums and memorials and on new forms of exhibition scenography is also organized.
The CAUE de l'Aisne has teamed up with the Familistère de Guise to propose an afternoon conference, debate and visit for «Reexamining the public square».
In Dunkirk, in the North, the public is invited to visit the Sugar Hall located in the heart of the city’s port. This architectural project by Pierre Louis Faloci is organized around a fault crossing, in the length, the walls of the original building.
Finally, the Ordre des architectes des Hauts-de-France organizes a meeting at the Maison de l'architecture d'Amiens between students of the École nationale supérieure d'architecture et de paysage (ENSAP) of Lille and students interested in studies and the profession of architect.
Coordinated by the Ministry of Culture these days are implemented by the Regional Directorates of Cultural Affairs (DRAC).
