What is the Aulnoye-Aymeries Current Cultures Pole?

The Pôle des Cultures Actuelles d'Aulnoye-Aymeries (59) aims to welcome any form of artistic expression that resonates with the vitality and narrative of the territory.

Conceived as a platform for regional cooperation in the service of the cultural sector, the Pôle des Cultures Actuelles has for project to cross in a vast building signed by Rudy Ricciotti, 4 artistic fields:

  • the diffusion (show)
  • creation (artist residency, recording, production, etc.)
  • vocational and continuing training (sound and technical trades)
  • and education (courses, workshops, rehearsal, etc.).

A Steering Committee (COPIL) dedicated to the Contemporary Cultures Pole of Aulnoye-Aymeries was organized at the initiative of Corine Simon, sub-prefect of Avesnes-sur-Helpe, and associating various State departments (Prefecture, Direction régionale des Affaires Culturelles, Rectorat de Lille), the Maubeuge-Val de Sambre agglomeration, the Regional Council, the Conseil départemental du Nord, and the Université Polytechnique Hauts-de-France (UPHF).

On the occasion of this COPIL, the first orientations of the Pôle des Cultures Actuelles were presented by the Maubeuge-Val de Sambre agglomeration, thus releasing proposals for governance, budget modelling, and partnership networking.

The State recalled its support for the development of this new multidisciplinary and collaborative equipment that would be guided by new ways of experiencing culture by associating inhabitants, artists and professionals in the service of citizens.

State action in the project

In addition to investment financing, the State supports the prefiguration of the Pôle des Cultures Actuelles with aid that has made it possible to recruit a project manager and a cultural action officer.

The Rectorate assigns a commissioned teacher of music education, in connection with the Félix Del Marle College which houses a boarding school of excellence.

The DRAC is also developing an artistic residency of territory with Muzzix, a musical team under agreement, around a participatory project combining collecting, collective musical practice and creation of sound objects.

Finally, the Ministry of Culture has included the PCA among the structures benefiting from the Territorial Innovation Fund, in order to stimulate experiments in cultural projects.
