Since 2008, NEXT has been a fine illustration of successful cross-border cooperation between France and Belgium, which reaches many audiences on both sides of the border. One of the special points of this festival is the programming conceived and realized in collective: no single director, but a dialogue between professionals. Indeed, the 5 co-organizers - Schouwburg Kortrijk, the BUDA arts centre, La Rose des Vents, Espace Pasolini and Le Phénix - are teaming up with 15 other performing arts houses to pool their expertise, resources and know-how. The visions intersect and allow a diverse program of international artists.
Beyond art, encounters
NEXT aims to be accessible to all, from free shuttles are set up from Villeneuve d'Ascq, Valenciennes, Roubaix, Dunkerque, Lille, Lessines, Courtrai and several other Belgian cities. The opportunity to travel for an evening, to enjoy introductions to the shows and to meet.
The meetings are at the heart of this festival, with original proposals like Dinner@Next, which allows you to share a meal with the resident across the border or Next@Home which offers a presentation of the shows by the festival team, directly at home, with your guests, to help you choose the ones that will please you.
