Publications of the Hauts-de-France of the Service régional de l'archéologie (SRA)
Since 1991, the Regional Archaeology Service has published the Regional Scientific Report, which is presented as an annual activity report. In parallel, it publishes a collection of didactic and richly illustrated brochures Archéologie des Hauts-de-France, aimed at making the archaeology of the Hauts-de-France region better known to the general public.
Regional Science Review
The Regional Scientific Review (BSR), published since 1991, presents all the operations carried out during the reference year, in the form of a short, possibly illustrated leaflet. It provides a comprehensive view of regional archaeological activity, since it focuses on land interventions, but also on other forms of research (prospecting, collective research projects), preventive and programmed. It is a scientific document, but it is widely disseminated and read by non-specialists curious about what has been discovered in the region.
The platelet collections
The Service régional de l'archéologie de Picardie published from 1997 to 2015, a collection of 50 plaques entitled Archaeology in Picardy The Service régional de l'archéologie du Nord-Pas-de Calais published from 2011 to 2015, a collection of 37 booklets entitled Archaeology in Nord-Pas-de-Calais ».
Following the amalgamation of the regions in 2016, the collection was renamed «Archaeology of Hauts-de-France» and four leaflets are published each year, two dedicated to the Lille sector and two others to the Amiens sector, for a total of 16 until 2019.
These small booklets of 8 or 12 pages, abundantly illustrated, present the results of excavations or research conducted in the region, particularly interesting. While being synthetic, the text is adapted to the widest audience and easy to read.
Distributed only on written request within the limits of the stocks, these leaflets inform in a precise and educational way of the news of the regional research.
