Franck Riester, Minister of Culture, in full agreement with Michèle Lutz, Mayor of Mulhouse, Jean Rottner, President of the Grand Est Region, Brigitte Klinkert, President of the Departmental Council of the Haut-Rhin, and Bertrand Jacoberger, President of La Filature, approves the appointment of Benoît André to the management of La Filature, on the unanimous proposal of the jury meeting on July 4, 2019.

His project proposes a multidisciplinary program, bringing together live and visual arts, partly developed in collaboration with the Opéra National du Rhin and the Orchestre symphonique de Mulhouse, ensuring the balance of disciplines and styles and paying particular attention to transdisciplinary proposals born of an accomplished fusion of forms.

Each season, a focus on a great artistic personality will allow a crossing of its universe combining shows, performances, exhibitions, projections and conferences.

Accomplice artists will be invited for three seasons to create at La Filature, to play an active role in the work of raising awareness and conquering new audiences, to associate oneself with the reflections around the arts and cultural education and to be part of the work carried out by the preparatory class to the competitions of entrance to the higher schools of theatre.

Finally, its ambition is that La Filature be open to its environment inviting everyone to seize its spaces for learning, discovery and conviviality and continue, through the Filature Nomade device, to go out of its walls to meet those who are not yet its users.

Since 2011, Benoît André has been Secretary General and Programming Advisor at the Théâtre National de Chaillot. He was previously Secretary General then Director of the Festival Octobre en Normandie and Director of the Festival Automne en Normandie.
