To receive the label, each House must meet a number of conditions, including opening their doors to visitors more than 40 days a year and pursuing a goal that is not primarily commercial.
To date, 253 houses have been certified in France and 22 in the Great East.
Cases are heard and reviewed by the DRAC and then presented to the Regional Heritage and Architecture Commission, section 1 (RCAP). The award of the label is then the subject of a decision by the Regional Prefect.
