Protocol for the Disbursement of Movable Archaeological Property and Scientific Documentation
The furniture resulting from preventive archaeology operations is shared between the owner(s) of the land and the State according to the cases defined in the Heritage Code. Pending final allocation procedures, it benefits from the same conservation rules as all public collections.
Preventive archaeology operators must submit to the Regional Archaeology Service the archaeological furniture and scientific documentation resulting from an archaeological operation once the operation report has been declared admissible by the SRA, no later than two years after the completion of the diagnosis or from the date of the certificate of release for preventive excavations.
In order to guarantee the best conditions for the submission of this data, the SRA has established a payment protocol, in collaboration with the regional operators. It recalls the responsibilities of the operator and the SRA, defines the modalities of the payment: the delivery validation and the elements of the acceptance note. It offers standards for packaging archaeological furniture and scientific documentation.
