Ethnology
The ethnology department mobilizes research for the implementation of cultural projects and positions itself at the interface between the world of research in the social sciences and the promoters of cultural projects. The articulation between a research policy and a cultural policy is declined in the heritage field and can also concern cultural action and artistic creation.
At the level of the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region, the ethnology service accompanies the two ethnopoles:
- The Centre for Traditional Music Rhône-Alpes - Ethnopole “music, territories, interculturality”
- The Armenian Heritage Centre - Ethnopole “Frontiers, Migrations, Memories”
The ethnology department is in charge of monitoring:
- Applications for the Ethnopôle label - national hub for research and resources in ethnology. Ethnopoles are institutions that work both locally and nationally in the fields of research, information and cultural action on an original theme.
