The missions of CAD Mayotte
The Directorate of Cultural Affairs (DAC) of Mayotte is responsible for conducting, under the authority of the Prefect of Mayotte, the cultural policy of the State, in the fields of knowledge, protection, conservation and valorization of heritage, the promotion of architecture, support for artistic creation and dissemination in all its components, the development of books and reading, arts and cultural education and the transmission of knowledge, the promotion of cultural diversity, the development of the economy of culture and cultural industries, the promotion of the French language and the languages of France.
The Mayotte Department of Cultural Affairs is created following the publication of Decree no. 2016-385
The DAC Mayotte ensures the conduct of the actions of the State in the cultural field, develops the cooperation with the local authorities to which it can provide, as necessary, its technical support.
