The Minister of Culture, Roselyne Bachelot-Narquin and the Associate Minister of Industry, Agnès Pannier-Runacher, have appointed Sandra Rey as President of the National Design Council (CNDes), on the proposal of the board’s office.

It offers them a space for dialogue and consultation in order to pool their practices, to share their reflections on the societal, environmental and economic dimensions of design and its contribution to the transformation of our society and our lifestyles.

The National Design Council (CNDes) will act as a professional committee of the sector, in charge of observing, studying, making prospective and proposals to the public authorities to put in place a strategy and a national design policy. In particular, this could lead to public communication actions, the establishment of funding for flagged calls for projects, or structuring events for the design ecosystem.

While supporting the revival of the industry and the cultural influence of design, the National Design Council (CNDes) will support the emergence of new forms of design: relationship design (between the different forms of design), creative design, inclusion, design vector of sustainable development. All NCD Thematic Commissions will be led by an ecosystem actor, and will seek the appropriate people and bodies to carry out their work.

The National Design Council (CNDes) will submit its activity report to the Prime Minister, as well as to the Ministers of Culture and the Economy, Finance and Recovery – report to be made public.
