Glass master Philippe Andrieux, President of the National Trade Union Chamber of Stained Glass, died during the night of Saturday to Sunday following a long illness.

From his studio in Paris -La Maison du Vitrail, which he opened in 1973 with his wife- some exceptional creations came to sublimate some of the most beautiful monuments of our heritage such as the Dome of Invalides.

A passionate and committed personality, Philippe Andrieux was very attached to the transmission of rare know-how. In over 40 years, he has personally trained many artisans. He was also president of the French Confederation of Crafts, Excellence and Luxury (CFMA) from 2013 to September.

Franck Riester, Minister of Culture, extends his sincere condolences to his family and loved ones.
