Roselyne Bachelot-Narquin, Minister of Culture, has appointed Thierry Verdier as Director of the ENSA of Montpellier, for a three-year term starting on 1 Januaryer september 2021.
Thierry Verdier, architect and university professor in the history of modern art, has already directed the ENSA in Montpellier from 2002 to 2009. This experience will allow him to define and implement a project of shared settlement with all the communities of the school.
Thierry Verdier will be in charge of drawing up in the coming months a multi-year contract of establishment, which will be part of the renewed strategic dialogue between the national higher schools of architecture and the Ministry of Culture.
Thierry Verdier will also be responsible for ensuring the implementation of actions to help restore the smooth functioning of the ENSA in Montpellier at the service of its students and staff, in accordance with the recommendations of the General Inspection of Cultural Affairs and in line with the initiatives already taken by Anne Matheron over the past six months.
Roselyne Bachelot-Narquin thanks Anne Matheron, interim administrator of the school since February 10, 2021, for her remarkable action in favour of the exit from the crisis of the ENSA of Montpellier, as well as Lisette Vieira, administrative and financial director, who has acted as Executive Director since October 2020.
