On Monday, March 14, 2022, Roselyne Bachelot-Narquin, Minister of Culture, celebrated the 15th anniversary of the Culture & Diversity Foundation’s "Equal Opportunities" program, in the presence of Marc Ladreit de Lacharrière, its founder, and Eléonore de Lacharrière, its general delegate, and reaffirmed on this occasion the commitment of the Ministry of Culture to cultural and social diversity within higher education institutions Culture.
The Ministry of Culture is very attentive to the diversification of the profiles of students within the schools under its supervision, corollary of a rich contemporary artistic creation and factor of social cohesion. Thus, the improvement of the use of grants and specific aids, the deployment of the system of ropes of success - in connection with the Ministry of National Education, Youth and Sports - the public preparatory classes, the promotion of training for the greatest number, accompany the commitment of many schools already very mobilized.
As an essential partner of the Ministry for access to arts and culture for young people from modest backgrounds, the Culture & Diversity Foundation has set up 13 equal opportunities programmes with 52 Grandes Écoles de la Culture partners, 45 of which are under the supervision of the Ministry of Culture: schools of art and design, schools of architecture, schools of cinema and audiovisual, performing arts and heritage.
These programs, the first of which was set up in 2006 at the Ecole du Louvre, aim to make young people aware of these courses of excellence from college and high school, to prepare the most motivated for entrance competitions, and then to accompany them with scholarships, in particular, during their training and beyond their professional integration.
Over the past 15 years, these programs have helped more than 26,000 students become informed and aware, 2,500 students prepared for the competitions of the Grandes Écoles de la Culture and 2,300 students supported financially and pedagogically.
Roselyne Bachelot-Narquin, Minister of Culture, congratulates all the partners who have worked for access for all to higher education Culture, and hopes that the actions towards remote audiences will continue and grow. That is why the framework agreement between the Ministry of Culture and the Culture & Diversity Foundation was renewed today.
