Marie-Christine Saragosse, President and Chief Executive Officer of France Médias Monde and Loïc Depecker, Delegate General for the French Language and the French Languages of the Ministry of Culture signed an agreement on Friday, September 21, 2018framework formalising existing collaborations and broadening their partnership for the promotion of the French language and the Francophonie, a priority mission of France Médias Monde and the General Delegation to the French language and languages of France (DGLFLF) of the Ministry of Culture.

This commitment illustrates the mobilization of both partners in the implementation of the plan of the President of the Republic "An ambition for the French language and plurilingualism" and is part of the current events of the next Francophonie Summit in Yerevan. France Médias Monde and the Ministry of Culture are thus strengthening their partnerships, such as the one around the “Semaine de la langue française et de la francophonie” and expanding them to new areas, such as support for young francophone media talent. The agreement also provides for editorial collaborations.

The General Delegation to the French Language and Languages of France of the Ministry of Culture could thus accompany some of the RFI programs dedicated more specifically to the promotion of the French language and the Francophonie and propose to the antennas of the group France Media World privileged access to its database of linguistic experts. The Ministry of Culture and France Médias Monde, in particular RFI, which has more specifically an educational role through tools for learning French from 20 foreign languages, wish to pool their expertise and some of their resources in this area. This agreement also strengthens the collaborations between the DGLFLF of the Ministry of Culture and the RFI Savoirs website, which offers a digital offer of knowledge in French in which will be valued resources of the Ministry of Culture.
