Roselyne Bachelot-Narquin, Minister of Culture, gathered on Friday, March 11, 2022 the public institutions of the Ministry of Culture, the cultural structures labelled as well as several professional organizations for a presentation of the support fund for Ukrainian artists and cultural professionals who would like to be welcomed in France.

To this one million euro support fund, deployed by the Ministry of Culture, will be added a 300,000 euro envelope for the reception of students in the 99 schools under the supervision of the Ministry of Culture.

This fund consists of two components: an emergency reception facility and a support system for artistic creation. This device will also be open to dissident Russian artists.

This emergency reception program has a budget of €750,000. It will mainly fund the reception in residence of Ukrainian artists and cultural professionals and their families for a period of 3 months, through the PAUSE program, for residencies within the ministry’s network of public institutions, on the one hand, and with the Cité internationale des arts on the other.

It has already enabled the establishment of a telephone reception platform, in Ukrainian and Russian languages, for the guidance of Ukrainian artists and cultural professionals. This platform, implemented with the Atelier des artistes en exil, makes it possible to easily and quickly orient the people concerned.

The Minister of Culture hoped that Ukrainian artists would also be accompanied to continue their creative work in France. Based on cultural structures, this additional support will be in the form of research grants, funding for artistic projects, but also support for the exhibition of shows.

This meeting was also the occasion for a lively exchange with all the institutions and cultural organizations represented. The Minister of Culture welcomes their mobilization and welcomes the many initiatives already launched.

These initiatives will be the subject of a comprehensive relay on the site of the Ministry of Culture.
