The Ministry of Culture, the Conseil Supérieur de l'Audiovisuel (CSA), the Centre National du Cinéma et de l'Image Animée (CNC), the Association des Chaînes Conventionnées Éditeurs de Services (access) and the Syndicat National de la Publicité Télévisée (SNPTV) announce the publication of the 2019 edition of the Chain Guide (formerly Guide des chaînes numériques) which was produced under the coordination of the Clair de Lune agency.

A working tool for media professionals, the guide presents the universe of French channels authorized for free or paid broadcasting on DTT or under CSA agreements. It allows us to measure the richness of the French digital channel offering and the diversity of distribution networks and to understand recent developments affecting a sector in profound change.

A reference tool

The first part of the guide presents the supply of channels, their reception and distribution methods, their audiences, their economic performance, their investment in production as well as the legal news of 2018.

The second part presents, in the form of cards, the 127 channels authorised, agreed upon or measured by Médiamétrie. These cards recall their positioning, the networks on which the channels are broadcast, the share of the different types of programs they program and their advertising distribution.

This 17e edition of the guide is based on statistics, reports and studies carried out by the Ministry of Culture, the CSA, and the CNC.
