The Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Culture welcome the initiative of French media and journalism training centres for Ukrainian and Russian journalists and media that Russia’s war against Ukraine is preventing and forced to leave their countries. The commitment of French media actors is a testament to their professional solidarity, their willingness to defend the freedom to inform and their contribution to the fight against disinformation.

As part of its support fund for the reception of artists and professionals of culture and media affected by the war in Ukraine, The Ministry of Culture supports the Maison des journalistes for the establishment of a platform dedicated to journalists and their families: ukraine@maisondesjournalistes.org.
This address allows them to be oriented towards accommodation offers, provision of studios and equipment, training and support for placement in editorial offices.

The Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs supports the efforts of journalists in exile wishing to be welcomed in France and the actions in Europe of the CFI (French media development agency) for the reception and the continuation of the information activity of these journalists, notably within a hub being developed by France Médias Monde in Bucharest, backed by the editorial staff of RFI România.

France, which was at the initiative of the partnership for information and democracy in 2019, which now brings together 45 States, has a deep and determined commitment to defending press freedom, freedom of expression and the protection of journalists.
