The 2020 Goncourt Prize was awarded on Monday 30 November to Hervé Le Tellier for his novel L'Anomalie (Gallimard).

As a virtuoso of literary experimentation, Hervé Le Tellier imagines a situation that is both funny and disturbing and that makes identities and the very notion of reality waver. At the centre of this vertiginous story, which combines different genres and styles, from the love novel to science fiction, is the character of a writer, author of The Anomaly…

Author of novels, essays, short stories, theatre and poetry, Hervé Le Tellier is president of OuLiPo (OUvroir de LIttérature POtentielle). He was a member of the National Book Centre’s poetry commission from 2013 to 2016.

Roselyne Bachelot-Narquin, Minister of Culture, sends her warm congratulations.
