In September 2021, the Ministry of Culture launched a call for projects for authors of podcasts and radio creations.

This novel device aims to support authors and authors in writing or rewriting podcasts and original radio creations, requiring a particularly significant creative investment, be it fiction, documentary, or hybrid and innovative formats.

Created on an experimental basis and endowed with 500,000 euros, it aims to promote diversity and editorial quality by targeting authors whose earning potential is still low to date.

For this first edition, the commission was chaired by Guillaume Gallienne, member of the Comédie française, and his vice-presidency was entrusted to François Hurard, inspector general of cultural affairs and co-author of the report on the podcasts submitted to the Minister of Culture in November 2020. The commission was also composed of twelve professionals from the field of podcast and radio creation: Thomas Baumgartner, Nathalie Bessis, Loïc Chusseau, Leila Djitli, Erwann Gaucher, Silvain Gire, Axelle Jah Njiké, Corinne Klomp, Siham Mineur, Yves Nilly, Thibault de Saint Maurice and Sabine Zovighian.

Meeting three times between December 2021 and March 2022, the members of the commission 113 projects, of the approximately 1,300 files received by the Ministry of Culture.

The projects were selected in view of the unique vision they express, whether it is the subject addressed or the stylistic requirements. The winners will receive support ranging from 3,000 to 5,000 euros to support them in writing original sound works.

The Ministry of Culture welcomes the success of this experiment, which responds to the challenge of supporting new talents and new forms of creation, in a context marked by the exceptional enthusiasm generated by the podcasts
