The current examination in the National Assembly of the bill on global security, and in particular Article 24 thereof, raises legitimate questions.

I therefore asked the Prime Minister to clarify the drafting of the text to ensure the protection of the right to inform.

These requests were heard. The Government, after consultation, has tabled an amendment that will clarify the provisions of Article 24 to clarify that they cannot infringe the right to inform and that the new crime created is constituted only if the purpose of harming the physical and mental integrity is manifest.

As Minister of Culture, guaranteeing respect for public freedoms, including freedom of the press and freedom of expression, I will remain vigilant to ensure that fundamental freedoms are preserved and I trust in the spirit of responsibility of national representation.
