Due to the health situation, the European Museum Night will take place online on Saturday, November 14, 2020, at nightfall.

This digital event will be based on programs often designed specifically for the event and offered by hundreds of museums in France and Europe: virtual tours, online games, stories, tests, quizzes, etc. A large number of animations will be proposed.

All ages and tastes are invited to participate in the European Night of Museums on the Internet and on social networks: follow the accounts of your favorite museums, those of the Night of Museums and those of the Ministry of Culture. All these initiatives will be federated on social networks around #NuitDesMuséesChezNous and on the website www.nuitdesmusees.fr.

Some examples:

  • The National Museum of Asian Arts Guimet will offer a video program about the Zen garden and its Japanese collections.
  • The MAC VAL, contemporary art museum of Val-de-Marne, will celebrate its 15e anniversary with the sale of exclusive t-shirts created by artists. Artistic action in line with its commitments, in partnership with Act Up.
  • The Museum of Corsica in Corte will invite to live live streaming on Facebook and Youtube the baroque concert «Canniccioni Quartet».
  • The Musée des Impressionnismes Giverny, will present works dedicated to the night, in its exhibition «L'Atelier de la nature». Two influencers will explore the museum for guided tours.
  • The Musée national de la Marine, in Paris, will host a night-time discovery of the works in its collection.
  • The Alençon Museum of Fine Arts and Lace will invite you to a walk with a flashlight in the exhibition “Interior gardens – creation by Marjolaine Salvador-Morel”.
  • The Ideal Palace of the Horse Factor, in Hauterives, will offer live on Instagram a visit to the monument in the light of candles.

Among the online programs proposed by Arte, a documentary about the painter Henri Matisse as well as A Musée Vous, A Musée Moi, a short series that revisits with humour the most famous paintings of the world, from The Mona Lisa to Marilyn by Andy Warhol, will be particularly exciting!

Finally, the Ministry of Culture will give carte blanche to personalities and influencers who propose unexpected visits, to follow on their social networks, the Ministry’s YouTube channel and on its Facebook account.
