Roselyne Bachelot-Narquin, Minister of Culture, in agreement with Jean-Luc Chapon, Mayor of Uzès, Carole Delga, President of the Regional Council of Occitanie/Pyrénées-Méditerranée, Françoise Laurent-Perrigot, President of the Departmental Council of Gard and Daniel Girard, President of the association La Maison, gave its approval to the appointment of Emilie Peluchon as director of La Maison, Centre de Développement Chorégraphique National (CDCN) of Uzès Gard Occitanie.

A dynamic and well-known figure in the choreographic sector, Emilie Peluchon has demonstrated throughout her professional career a strong commitment to the service of dance and in particular to artistic teams. His knowledge of the public policies carried out by the State and local authorities in favour of dance has enabled him to work within territorial projects such as the network Stopover dance (Val d'Oise) or establishment projects such as the Scène conventionnée d'intérêt national pour la danse de Bezons.

His current duties as Director of Dense Dance à Pantin demonstrate the special attention it pays to the emergence of young choreographers and the accompaniment of artists' careers, taking into account the issues of equality between women and men.

His project, La Maison, dance and territory, is part of the history and approach built over several decades by the CSCN teams, particularly with respect to Uzès Dance Festival or device Studio Mobile, deployed in a mobile mode throughout the department of Gard and the Occitanie region.

Attentive to the diversity of dance aesthetics, Emilie Peluchon will bring new proposals for the CDCN The House. It wants to create a festival aimed at young audiences, but also to develop the presence and registration of choreographic projects in heritage places or natural sites of the territory. In addition, it aims to strengthen the CDCN’s activities at European level through varied artistic programming and collaborations within professional networks.

Emilie Peluchon will take office in November 2022, succeeding Liliane Schaus in her retirement. The Minister would like to commend Liliane Schaus for her hard work and professional commitment to a project that has been built in a singular and inventive way over the years.
