Rima Abdul Malak, Minister of Culture, in agreement with Bernard Combes, Mayor of Tulle, Pascal Coste, President of the Departmental Council of Corrèze and Alain Rousset, President of the Regional Council of Nouvelle-Aquitaine, approves the appointment of Benoit Maume to the direction of the current music scene (SMAC), Of Tomorrow That Sing, in accordance with the proposal of the jury meeting on 20 September 2022.

Originally from Clermont-Ferrand and a graduate of a Master’s degree in «Arts and Culture Professions», Benoit Maume managed the booking division of the independent label Play Two and worked as a programmer for the Le Nouveau Casino in Paris. He is also a member of the MaMA festival’s programming committee. Benoit Maume served as editor-in-chief of Roadie Magazine for 8 years and created and animated «Converse Avant-Poste» a device for identifying, accompanying and helping artists professionalize. He also worked as artistic director of the Silencio and Nuits Fauves clubs.

Benoit Maume’s project for SMAC Of Tomorrow That Sing is part of an ambition of renewal in the field of concerts. With a strong artistic line, Benoit Maume is interested as much in avant-garde and marginal aesthetics as in the great popular trends. It aims to develop a multifaceted project rich in proposals for cultural action. It favours a networking approach with players in the music industry and the territory and defends a project established with respect for diversity and equality by making the ecological transition a priority.

Benoit Maume will take office on January 9, 2023. He will succeed Damien Morisot who led Of Tomorrow That Sing from 2012 to 2021. The Minister welcomes his work in the service of the development of a cultural structure now recognized at the national level as a place to accompany new talents.
