Françoise Nyssen, Minister of Culture, will open the morning-debate on housing architecture, Friday 16 February at the Cité de l'architecture & du patrimoine, Paris 16e.

In the context of the current work on the bill «evolution of housing and digital development» (ELAN), the Minister of Culture wanted to invite the actors of the act to build in order to discuss the contributions of architecture to social issues, urban, environmental, economic and cultural housing today.

In fact, architects have always been committed, alongside decision-makers and project managers, to offer each of our fellow citizens a quality living environment. But the role of architecture is not only to transform daily life or to embellish it, but to give meaning to the daily space in which we live.

The half-day will be an opportunity for exchanges on the evolution of the control and the production processes of housing, evoking alternative and associative approaches for the construction of housing, especially for the poorest and on the place of the «permit to make» and experimentation in the service of public housing policies and architectural quality.

Sharing experiences on the construction or rehabilitation of buildings will demonstrate the role of the architect in meeting the expectations of our fellow citizens regarding housing and the commitments of our country in the energy and ecological transition.
