Rima Abdul Malak, Minister of Culture, appoints Laurence Tison-Vuillaume as head of the General Inspection of Cultural Affairs (IGAC) service as of Monday, December 5, 2022.

Placed under the direct authority of the Minister of Culture, IGAC provides a general mission of control, audit, study, advice and evaluation for all the public services and establishments of the Ministry of Culture, as well as organizations receiving direct or indirect assistance from the Ministry’s services. It contributes to the evaluation of public cultural policies and to the assessment of the cost, the result and the effectiveness of the means implemented to carry out the actions undertaken by the Ministry of Culture.

Posted to the Ministry of Economy, Finance and Industry at the end of the ENA, where she held various positions in the fields of monetary policy and the State Participation Agency (2003-2007), Laurence Tison-Vuillaume was seconded as external rapporteur to the Court of Auditors (2007-2011), then as Deputy Secretary General, responsible for the economy and innovation, to the Commissariat général pour le développement de la vallée de la Seine (2011-2012). She was also Vice-President of the Haute-Normandie Regional Council, in charge of Culture (2007-2010), and Deputy Mayor of Rouen, also in charge of Culture (2008-2012).

Laurence Tison-Vuillaume joined the Ministry of Culture in 2013 to serve as head of department, assistant to the Director General of Artistic Creation (2013-2017). She subsequently led the cabinet of Françoise Nyssen, Minister of Culture, then that of Sibeth Ndiaye, Secretary of State to the Prime Minister, Government Spokesman (2019-2020). Laurence Tison-Vuillaume was appointed Inspector General of Cultural Affairs in 2021.

Laurence Tison-Vuillaume succeeds Ann José Arlot, who served as head of IGAC from September 2011 to October 2022. Rima Abdul Malak salutes the energy and commitment with which Ann José Arlot has led the General Inspection Service in recent years, after a career dedicated to architecture, who notably saw her founding and running the Pavillon de l'Arsenal in Paris and then assuming the duties of director in charge of architecture at the Ministry of Culture. The Minister thanked Claire Lamboley, Secretary General of IGAC, for acting as Director of IGAC in recent weeks.
