On the proposal of the jury meeting on June 5, 2018, Françoise Nyssen, Minister of Culture, gave her approval to the appointment of Guillaume Blaise as Director of La Passerelle, Saint-Brieuc national scene, in consultation with Marie-Claire Diouron, Mayor of Saint-BrieucBrieuc, Alain Cadec, President of the Departmental Council of Côtes d'Armor and Loïg Chesnais-Girard, President of the Regional Council of Brittany.
Guillaume Blaise has been coordinator of Galapiat Cirque since 2015, a company that has a contract in Langueux. He was previously responsible for the Live Performance Centre within the culture department of La Teste de Buch, as well as director of the Champ de foire théâtre de Saint-André de Cubzac.
Guillaume Blaise’s multidisciplinary project proposes a program that aims to go beyond the usual distinctions between classical, contemporary and emerging forms and to favour emotion in the choice of works presented. He will pay particular attention to creations in the direction of childhood and youth. For its implementation, it plans to surround itself with two associate artists for three years and a Atelier de la Passerelle gathering artists established in the territory Guillaume Blaise aims to make La Passerelle a pole of attractiveness in the heart of the city, while leaving its walls to open on the neighborhoods and radiate more widely, on the territory of Saint-Brieuc Armor Agglomeration.
The Minister of Culture wishes to pay tribute to the determined action of Alex Broutard, at the helm of La Passerelle since 2002. It has been able to make it a house of artistic thought affirmed and recognized in the national network, especially through the support and accompaniment of emerging artists, and a convivial place developing a singular and original cultural action
