This 18e edition of the Go to the gardens has enabled a large public to reconnect with nature and to meet all those to whom the French gardens owe their vitality: the owners, both private and public, and the many professionals who maintain this fragile heritage (gardeners, art gardeners, landscapers, botanists).

Around the theme of «The transmission of knowledge», these actors shared with the public their knowledge and their experiences during guided tours, educational workshops or demonstrations of know-how. It is essential to prepare for the future and to train the amateur and professional gardeners of tomorrow. Without a relay, the 2,493 parks and gardens protected as historic monuments and the 454 parks and gardens labeled «Remarkable garden» could not be preserved and valued.

During these three days of spring festivities, more than 2,200 gardens were mobilized - nearly 200 for the first time and 250 exceptionally - allowing enthusiastic visitors to enjoy a breath of fresh air, shared with family or friends, and participate in one or more of the 3,500 activities proposed for the occasion.

In Europe, 500 gardens in more than 20 other countries joined this 3e European edition: Andorra, Belgium, Croatia, Estonia, Finland, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Monaco, the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Slovenia, Russia and Switzerland.

Roselyne Bachelot-Narquin, Minister of Culture, is already pleased with the holding of the 19e Friday, Saturday, June 3, June 4 and Sunday, June 5, 2022. Go to the gardens The theme will be “Gardens in the face of climate change”.
