The President of the Republic announced a series of strong measures to combat the spread of COVID-19.

One rule, one message: stay at home!

In this time of confinement where isolation and boredom can weigh, culture has a major role to play in supporting us on a daily basis. Because it allows us to read the world and to know ourselves better, it can help us to better live the collective ordeal we are going through.

This special moment can be an opportunity to take the time to discover or rediscover, alone or with your family, the immense talent and creativity of our artists. That’s why I decided to launch Operation #Culturecheznous today.

In addition to the mobilization of the media, and in particular of the public audiovisual, the Ministry of Culture will list all the free digital cultural offers and make them available to you on its website, at this address: https://www.culture.gouv.fr/Culturecheznous

The Ministry will regularly enrich with new proposals this first selection: virtual visits of exhibitions, podcasts, concerts or shows online, archives of radio and television, conferences, games and fun activities, educational content for children…

I also hope that you can all express yourself and your cultural and artistic practices, how you live these strange moments, whether it be in writing, video, photography, singing, music, dance, or simply by sharing, your creations, your tastes, your favourites using the word hash #Culturecheznous.

Every day, the Department will highlight an initiative on social media that is fully aligned with our #Culturecheznous operation.
